Before joining the Mercury staff, Brett served as the Head Coach of Quickwater Swim Club for 2 years, also acting as an assistant coach for both the HF-L Men’s and Women’s Varsity programs during that time. As a competitor, Brett swam for Livonia High School, winning a Class B Sectional title in 2005 while also qualifying for the State Championship in both the 50 & 100 Freestyle the same year. Scott James Wisner
Senior Prep & Senior Lead Assistant
Coach Wisner has been a swimmer and a coach in nearly every level of swimming over his 42 years in competitive swimming. In Watertown, NY, he was a member of the Watertown Y Swim Club competing at Y and USS meets and swam for Watertown High School there. He also swam for Bettendorf High School and Bettendorf Park Board Swim Club. In college, he swam distance events for the University of Iowa. And later, he swam as a Masters swimmer for Syracuse Masters Swim Club. Throughout his swimming career, he’s competed or qualified for most levels of competition. He was a high school state champion both in New York and in Iowa in the 500 free, was a member of an Iowa High School Championship team, finalist at Junior Nationals, a finalist and member of two Big Ten championship teams and a medalist at Masters Zones and Nationals.
His coaching career started while he was in high school helping with the younger Y swimmers and assisting with the girls high school team (tough duty for a high school guy). He was both an Assistant and Head Coach with the Watertown Y Swim Club, Assistant Coach with Iowa City Swim Club, Graduate Assistant at The University of Iowa, Co-Head Coach with the Leatherstocking Hawks Swim Club (Utica, NY) and Head Coach with the Fort Lauderdale Swim Team. Coach Wisner is a Level 4 coach in the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). On the side, he is a second-degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate and has worked for 20 years with the Rotary Youth Exchange program. He is married to Amy, a former All-American swimmer at Ithaca College and is the father of two swimmers, Kai and Taryn.
Jerald Christopher Ware
The Victor Swim Club is pleased to introduce our Performance Group Coach, Chris Ware. Chris brings a wealth of experience coaching age group swimming and has had tremendous success throughout the last two years at VSC and the preceding six seasons where he was the Age Group Coach at Canandaigua Aquatics. In addition to the tremendous local success of his athletes, he also brought multiple age group swimmers to the National Age Group Swimming Association (NASA) Showcase Classic Championships in Clearwater, Florida. Coach Ware's unique style combines high performance technique training with a focus on aerobic development. Over the past two years, Coach Chris has helped with a variety of levels as a substitute coach for Victor Swim Club taking his enthusiasm for technique and passing it along to the older kids.. Coach Ware is a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.A in Business Management. Chris works for PepsiCo Northeast and resides in Canandaigua, NY with his wife Marcie and two children, Kendall (17) and Logan (12).

- Coached multiple kids to breaking over 15 team records.

- Drives +90% IMX events/scoring with his swimmers.
- Helped develop a program enabling a seamless transition group to group focused on "teaching consistent technique/drills" to all groups.
- Coached multiple kids that won individual events at Niagara LSC Championships & Rochester YMCA District meet.
- Coached 3 kids to YMCA State champions in their individual events.
- Helped develop and coach the VSC to victory at the Niagara LSC SC Championships.
- Created a fun atmosphere where the kids can learn and thrive while improving their strokes.

Robyn Elisabeth Owens
The Victor Swim Club is pleased to welcome Robyn Owens as our Head Developmental Coach! Robyn has extensive experience working with swimmers of all abilities, ranging from swim lessons to senior level athletes. Robyn joins the Victor Swim Club staff after having served 5 years as the Developmental Coach with the Irondequoit Gators Swim Club. In addition to running several learn to swim programs, Coach Owens has managed pools and aquatic programming around the Greater Rochester Area. Robyn swam competitively for 2 years at MCC and also participated on a USA Swimming Team as a club athlete in the Utica, NY area. Robyn is currently completing her degree in Physical Education at SUNY Brockport, with a focus in adaptive P.E.
